How five NBA owners turned a shared passion for exceptional tequila into one of the world's most celebrated spirits.
In 2016, five friends gathered around a dinner table with a simple question: why couldn't a world-class tequila exist that was truly perfect from the very first sip?
Those five friends happened to be among the most influential figures in American sport — NBA team owners united not by their business acumen, but by an uncompromising love of great tequila and even greater company.
Michael Jordan (Charlotte Hornets), Jeanie Buss (Los Angeles Lakers), Wes Edens (Milwaukee Bucks), Wyc Grousbeck (Boston Celtics) and Emilia Fazzalari set out not to simply put a name to a bottle, but to craft something genuinely exceptional — a tequila they themselves would be proud to drink and share.
After years of development, travelling between Jalisco and the United States, tasting hundreds of distillate samples and working hand-in-hand with the master distillers of NOM 1614 in the highlands of Jalisco, Cincoro was born.

The Highland Terroir
Cincoro's Blue Weber Agave is grown in the rich red clay soils of Jalisco's Los Altos highlands — an altitude above 2,000 metres where cooler temperatures and mineral-rich earth develop an agave with naturally sweeter, more complex flavour. Only plants that have matured for a minimum of seven years are selected.
The Distillery
Every Cincoro expression is produced at NOM 1614 — a single, carefully chosen distillery in Jalisco. The founders' commitment to a single source ensures absolute consistency across the collection, with the master distiller applying decades of expertise to every batch using traditional brick ovens, natural fermentation, and double distillation.
The Standard
Cincoro has one rule: the liquid must speak for itself. No artificial colouring, no additives, no shortcuts. Every batch is tasted and approved by the five founders before release. If it doesn't meet the standard they set at that first dinner table in 2016, it simply doesn't leave the distillery.
